Electrification and Connected Car: Impact on Manufacturing
Final assembly goes electric! With the production of electric and hybrid electric vehicles clearly on the rise and car connectivity features significantly increasing, assembly engineers are faced with the challenge of adjusting their processes and technologies to these new developments.
But how best to address this vastly growing complexity in manufacturing today, in a time and budget efficient manner? What impact do electrification and connected cars have on manufacturing, exactly? What happens when you introduce a connected and electrified vehicle – including PHEV – into a new or already established final assembly facility? Which solutions, in terms of complexity management, are available with regard to the key areas
- trim lines
- battery assembly and delivery including battery life
- VCATS (Vehicle configuration and test systems)
- electrical testing
- off track?
These and many more questions are addressed and answered in the upcoming conference Assembly Engineering Insight @ Jaguar Land Rover 2017, which takes place in collaboration with Jaguar Land Rover at the British Motor Museum in Gaydon/ United Kingdom on September 27-28, 2017.
As a highlight of the conference, the Jaguar Land Rover plant in Solihull opens its doors to conference participants for a guided tour of the plant’s final assembly.
The detailed conference programme will be published in June 2017. You can already pre-order your personal copy >>here!
