"Disruption of the Automotive Industry"

Monday, 14 October, 11:00 h – 17:00 h

Bad Nauheim, Germany

The automotive industry, in fact mobility as a whole, is experiencing fundamental challenges - or chances? - very often described as truly disruptive structural changes. As an abbreviation, CASE - short for connected, autonomous, shared and electric vehicles – sums up the combination of future scenarios that is seen as most likely, driven by digitalization, changes in car user behavior and efforts to counteract climate change. However, intensive debates are being held on details and timelines of these scenarios – both within and outside the industry.

For instance on the following questions:

  • What propulsion systems will govern the future?
  • Is full scale electrification the only viable path or will ICE vehicles survive?
  • Will BEVs dominate electrification, or will PHEVs prevail, or will both be surpassed by fuel cell powered e-cars?
  • How does vehicle electrification affect power generation demands and environmental scenarios?
  • What will be the role and share in CASE scenarios of established, "classic” OEM vs. fresh start-up OEM companies?
  • And above all, in our EuroCarBody context: How will the disruption affect the automotive industry - and what will be the consequences for body engineering?

Don’t be mistaken - our six-hour Deep Dive Tutorial "Disruption of the Automotive Industry” cannot provide you with definite answers to these important questions. Today, no one can.

But in a very comprehensive and interactive way, the tutorial will present you with a profound analysis of the current situation and its "disruptivity” for the industry – and it will provide you with the relevant facts that have to be taken into account and should be the backbone of any discussion about future mobility – empowering you to build your own informed opinion.
