CONFERENCE - 6TH EUROPEAN AUTOMOTIVE CONFERENCE ON HANG-ON PARTS

English/German Simultaneous Translation

17-18 November 2008
Bad Nauheim/Germany

6th European Automotive Conference on Hang-On Parts
"Advanced Door and Closure Concepts 2008/2009"

- Specifications, design and material concepts, manufacture and field experience - today and tomorrow -

A special challenge: specifications for function, design and manufacture beyond 2009

Discussions on car body engineering innovations usually only focus on structural components of the bare body-in-white … Nonetheless, hang-ons and closures, such as doors, lids, roof modules, front and rear end systems all the way to complete glazing, are what eventually transforms the car body to a "functional entity".

Doors and closures in the center of attention: Further developed doors and closures must meet increasingly demanding function- and safety-relevant requirements, something the bare body-in-white cannot provide.

The Trend: Previously multi-part hang-ons designed as one single part. Doors, lids, front and rear ends integrate more functions and elements for increased comfort. They meet the new pedestrian protection legislation and significantly reduce the overall vehicle weight.

Novel and innovative doors, lids, roof modules, front and rear end hang-on systems will be in the focus of presentations and discussions of leading OEMs system suppliers and engineering companies at the upcoming 6th European Automobile Conference on Hang-On Parts.

The core topics of this international conference are:
  • Development and manufacture of car body hang-on parts for the latest series models 2008/2009

  • Innovative door and closure concepts in single- and multi-part design, materials, material mix, modularization, trim and production processes

  • Polycarbonate versus glass: Latest trends in glazing technology
