10th European Symposium with Exhibition
European Automotive Laser Application EALA 2009
Current Status of Laser Application in the Automotive and Supplier Industry
With over 200 international participants, the annual European Automotive Laser Application Conference EALA, is the leading European industry event for developers, planners and producers among the ranks of the OEMs and their subcontractors. It thus serves as the most important platform for communicating specialist information about lasers as system tools in the general field of automotive construction.
The aim of the new EALA Pre-Conference Tutorial is to provide theoretical and practical fundamentals that will benefit participants who subsequently attend the EALA itself.
No other event of European stature is as consistent in presenting such high-calibre R&D results from practical applications in automotive construction and subcontracting.
It traditionally concludes with an assessment by international automakers of their current situation and prospects for the future.
The 2009 EALA Conference Programme will cover the following topics:
- Smart lasering - The latest developments and applications in laser diodes, with a focus on energy consumption and costs
- Brilliant lasers - The latest developments and applications in disc and fibre laser systems
- Current aspects of quality assurance in laser technology use
- Updates on the latest applications and current aspects of daily production
Among the issues to be addressed are:
- To what extent can smart lasers be used for joining processes in high-tech vehicles? What are the cost implications?
- What should OEMs look out for when selecting laser sources?
- Is a paradigm shift from disc lasers to fibre lasers imminent?
- Can 2D cutting technology replace die-cutting? Preliminary applications suggest: Yes!
- How can OEMs achieve even greater process stability?
- Where will the current trend towards 3D laser cutting end?
EALA is aimed at
- Development, process planning and production managers
- R&D managers
- Engineers in positions of responsibility
involved in the laser-technology process chain at automotive manufacturers and subcontractors.
