EALA - European Automotive Laser Applications 2012
13th European Expert Conference with Exhibition and Pre-Tutorial
Sustainable vehicle concepts - Challenges and opportunities for laser
technology in the car of the future
To prepare automotive engineering for a future without fossil fuels, it is
necessary not only to develop and test cost-effective and energy-saving
processes, but also to integrate them into industrial production. Laser
technology will play a key role here because it is contactless, fast and
clean. That saves time and money in production - which will be crucial for
the success of electric vehicles.
Every year, the Automotive Circle's International EALA conference looks at
the hot topics surrounding the use of lasers in automotive production. It
is generally considered to be the most important international platform
for sharing information about lasers as system tools in the general field
of automotive engineering. EALA 2011 was again the leading European
industry event for developers, planners and producers from the ranks
of automotive OEM and subcontractors, with participant numbers up
around 14% on the prior year.
In 2012, too, EALA will bring together in Bad Nauheim the world's leading
network of automotive engineers to define and debate the state of development
and the future of lasers in automotive engineering.
Key points of the 2012 Conference
- Cutting maximum-strength steels
- Laser cutting of fibre-composites on the verge of the big breakthrough?
- New materials and lightweight engineering throw down the gauntlet to laser joining technology
- New materials and hybrid construction pose a challenge for joining technology
- Post-treatment as a way of influencing specific material properties
- Efficient joining technology for novel drive concepts
- Energy-savings with diodes? Field reports from automotive production
- Simulations for optimum processes - Boosting the quality of the welding process through Preceding or simultaneous simulation
- Will existing safeguards meet the requirements of future laser applications?
The EALA conference is aimed at:
- Development, process planning and production managers
- R & D managers
- Engineers and project managers in positions of responsibility at automakers and subcontractors engaged in the laser-technology process chain
INTERACTIVE
