Strategies in Car Body Painting 2012
Strategies for tomorrow’s car body surfaces – painting processes, equipment and materials
Future-oriented car body painting in terms of sustainability, resources and global compatibility
The finite nature of fossil fuels and the now accelerated exit from nuclear energy do more than shake up the debate on energy-saving propulsion systems. They also call for more economical alternatives to existing production processes, in particular energy-intensive painting processes. At the same time, internationally different environmental legal regulations are valid. All this poses huge challenges for engineering experts in the globally operating automotive industry. Car body painting strategies that are not only sustainable and economical but also successful are required to ensure that the car body surfaces of the future are of outstanding quality.
Car body painting - the parameters
Against this background, the representatives of the world's leading OEM network meet every two years in order to discuss innovative concepts and the impact of new structures. The Automotive Circle International-conference on Strategies in Car Body Painting focuses on the necessary strategies OEMs are required to adopt, which in turn imply new processes, new system technologies and new materials - worldwide. In this way the exchange of genuine technological innovations helps the global network (Europe, Asia, NAFTA countries) to progress.
Conference Topics in 2012
Green technologies and energy-saving concepts
- New approaches for global, efficient paint shops
- Energy concepts that embrace the entire car body manufacturing process
- Opportunities for globally operating companies to use nationally developed and approved materials abroad
- Different statutory requirements for energy saving
- Sparing use of resources as a green technology
Strategy update by OEM representatives from Europe, Asia and America
- Intercultural challenges
- Progress reports from international paint shop projects
- Alternatives to the compact systems used up to now (filler-less process, single-layer top coat system, etc.)
- Opportunities the digital factory creates for the process chain surface technology
Megatrends in the 21st century: sustainability, high degree of flexibility and scarcity of resources
- Using experience acquired in other industries (aviation, wind energy, rail)
- The lightweight material-mix in and the resulting effects on car body painting concepts
- Automotive colours of the future
- Replacing hazardous substances whilst maintaining quality
- Renewable raw materials
The conference is aimed at:
- Paint shop managers/planners responsible for the further development and introduction of new strategies, concepts, structures, processes and systems
- Paint-shop managers, divisional managers, departmental managers and strategic managers of automobile manufacturers
- Suppliers (Tier 1/Tier 2) in the automotive industry
- Service providers such as coating manufacturers, raw material suppliers, application and equipment suppliers and consultants
