Economic crisis notwithstanding - the automotive industry is currently facing one of the largest challenges in its history. Strong legislative pressure to reduce CO2 emission, or, more general, requests to realise smaller ecologic footprints caused by the production, use and disposal of automobiles, different, strongly promoted developments towards hybridisation/electrification of the power train, demands for higher production flexibility, with a simultaneous large cost pressure - these are only some of the drivers, which will ultimately lead to a fundamental re-thinking of today's automobile development and production. What will be the right path?
In this situation, "Strategies in Car Body Engineering" will once more provide a first-class international engineering forum to discuss new material, process and manufacturing concepts that allow to shed some light on the car body production of the future, with trailblazing progress reports of international OEM as well as important system suppliers, and also to present and discuss newest series car bodies and concept studies, within an audience of profound experts, in order to find sustainable solutions to the current key questions in car body engineering.
