Lightweight designs will only prevail in the long term
if they manage to harmonize such criteria as
functionality, weight, production volume and costs.
Scope for the automotive industry to be successful
is therefore to be found in developing integrated lightweight designs and using smart materials and
fit-for-purpose manufacturing processes. Modern
hybrid designs are already displacing straight steel and aluminium designs - and fiber-
reinforced plastics will soon be used for structural parts. So once again, efficient lightweight
design is moving centre stage, acting as the central driver of automotive research and
development. Strategies in Car Body Engineering 2012
again offers the first and most
important opportunity in the new year - after EuroCarBody - to discuss these key issues
and to validate solutions.

Featuring presentations on the latest series-production car body models, critical progress
reports by major OEMs and system suppliers, along with intensive discussions, and attended
by international experts in car body engineering, the conference will ultimately be seeking
viable answers to the question: Where do the opportunities for success lie in car body
engineering?

Have your say - We look forward to seeing you there!

Key topics of the 2012 conference:
  • New car body structures and concepts
  • Radical change in modern lightweight engineering
  • Flexibility and standardisation in the production process
  • Production-process optimisation in the press plant, body-in-white and paint shop

The expert conference on Strategies in Car Body Engineering is aimed at:

  • strategically focused car body engineers from international OEM with responsibilities
in pre-development and development, planning and production, and
  • relevant systems suppliers.
  • along the entire process chain "painted car body" - from press plant to the body
shop through to the paint shop.

About the expert conference on Strategies in Car Body Engineering

The expert conference on Strategies in car body Engineering is an annual examination
of the essential issues surrounding the development, planning and production of car bodies
from around the world. It affords participants a unique, overarching view of the key topics
in car body engineering that have to be addressed today and tomorrow. Top-notch presen-
tations and exclusive discussions with representatives from leading OEMs and selected key
suppliers, plus presentations on the latest car body models, combine to make this conference
the second most important event in the Automotive Circle International calendar after
EuroCarBody.
