It will again be this year's highlight of the Automotive Circle International's activities: From 20 to 22 October, the EuroCarBody 2009, 11th International Car Body Benchmark Conference, sets out to gather the globally most important network of expert car body engineers in Bad Nauheim, Germany, to discuss newest developments, to examine the most recent series car bodies, and to take part in determining the winners of the highest accolade in car body engineering today - the EuroCarBody Awards 2009.

Featuring 10 car body presentations during the three conference days, the event again offers the unique opportunity to experience modern car body engineering solutions, in a physical, hands-on approach: 10 car bodies as well as one trailblazing keynote presentation will be presented to the expert audience in every detail - with a 60-minutes technical plenary presentation, held by representatives of the respective OEM development team, followed by an intense half-hour discussion directly at and around the body-in-white. Also, all car bodies thus presented will be available for personal inspection during the entire conference.

award In addition to this, the new car forum of the event enables participants to study and to judge the practical implementation of the car bodies in the full vehicle.

The programme is further complemented by the exhibitors' forum, where approx. 20 leading system suppliers demonstrate their latest developments.

All car body presentations at the EuroCarBody describe in detail the development goals and how they were realised, the car body materials and joining technologies used as well as the car's production concept. With this benchmarking information at hand, it is then the conference's participants and OEM board of experts, who will evaluate the engineering solutions presented, marking the most distinguished car body engineering achievements of the year - and determining the winners of the EuroCarBody Awards 2009.
