The global car body benchmarking event

From 19 to 21 October 2010, EuroCarBody, 12th International Car Body Benchmarking Conference, again constitutes the highlight of the Automotive Circle International conference year, gathering the globally most important network of car body engineers in Bad Nauheim, Germany, to define the current state-of-the-art and future trends in international car body engineering. 14 OEM car body presentations plus one concept study, featuring newest series cars for the European market, will serve to discuss and to evaluate latest engineering solutions in car body production and development, in a variety of vehicle segments.

Modern car body engineering, hands-on

Following its proven concept, all car bodies presented to the expert audience at the EuroCarBody will be explained in a 60-minute technical presentation by their responsible OEM developers, with details on their development, material and production concept, in each case followed by an intense half-hour discussion at the body-in-white in question. Additionally, all BIWs will be available to the conference participants for hands-on and individual inspection during the entire event..

Standardized benchmarking data

After its successful introduction in 2009, participants will also be provided with a detailed and standardised catalogue of car body benchmarking data, containing, amongst others, breakdowns on weights, number of parts, materials and joining technologies, as well as key production process data. This catalogue has been developed by the OEM Board of the EuroCarBody conference and will be solicited for all car bodies presented.

New Car Forum

Ideally complementing the car body information, the corresponding complete cars can be experienced, both from the interior and the exterior, in the New Car Forum of the event, allowing to study, in particular, the realisation of the car body concept in the full vehicle.

EuroCarBody Award – highest accolade in car body engineering worldwide

In line with EuroCarBody’s unique concept, and using all this information, the entire audience of the conference, and its OEM Board of experts is then called upon to honour and evaluate the developments presented by their car body engineer peers, in this way determining the winners of the EuroCarBody Awards, clearly regarded as the highest accolade in car body engineering worldwide.

Exhibitors’ forum

The information package provided by the EuroCarBody is further enhanced through the Exhibitor’s Forum, where more than 20 important car body system suppliers will present to display their most recent developments.

Exclusive market trends

With a multitude of highly competent car body engineers, representing leading international OEM, service providers and system suppliers, the EuroCarBody auditorium constitutes a unique body of technical expertise and market competence. For this reason, an anonymous online poll among all conference participants aims at shedding some light on the considerations and insights of this assembly, addressing current key questions in car body engineering and production – also in comparison to 2009, where this polling was conducted for the first time. The results of the poll will be presented to the conference plenum at the beginning of the event, and also documented exclusively for all participants.
