Materials in Car Body Engineering

The next big thing

Achieving climate neutrality, and more general, sustainability in their supply chain and production clearly has become a predominant goal in the automotive industry – the “next big thing” OEM are addressing with full force. On the route towards this goal, car body materials naturally are at the center of attention: Reducing the cradle-to-gate CO2e-footprint of primary sourced materials (steels, aluminum, magnesium, plastics) is urgently requested – but equally or even more important is the notion of regarding secondary, recycled materials as valuable and necessary sources that need to be adopted – without compromising high demands on material performance, durability, formability, joinability and lightweight. Increasingly, demands also concern responsible sourcing and globally secured availability of materials – while the need for cost efficiency in car body development persists.
Sustainable, economic, high-performing material solutions and material concepts therefore are being called for – and latest developments will be discussed again during the 2023 edition of Automotive Circle’s international conference on Materials in Car Body Engineering in Bad Nauheim (Germany) on May 9-10, 2023.

Be part of this network and these discussions – we are looking forward to welcoming you there!
