Car Body Painting

39th Workshop

Car Body Painting

Stable supply chains as a key success factor

Until the outbreak of the Corona pandemic, many companies would not have thought that their supply chains could prove so fragile. As early as September 2021, the IFO (Institute for Economic Research) published corresponding figures, according to which production is being hampered by supply bottlenecks at 70 percent of companies in the manufacturing sector. At 91.5 percent, the automotive industry is the most severely affected, with paint shops naturally suffering as well. The situation is now exacerbated by the armed conflicts in Ukraine. "Real dislocations caused by Russia's invasion of Ukraine and the sanctions imposed by the West, as well as a high level of uncertainty among companies with relations to Russia, are noticeably setting back March trade," according to initial calculations by the Kiel Institute for the World Economy (IfW).

How can supply chains be secured now and in the future? How do we best equip ourselves for the coming changes? In-house production or buying in - what's the silver bullet? How can plants for new and existing paint shops be reliably planned? How can energy consumption be further reduced?

These will be discussed by experts from renowned OEMs and suppliers during Car Body Painting 2022 in Bad Nauheim, Germany. In addition, other forward-looking topics such as digitalization or sustainability will also be addressed. With your contribution, take an active part in the discussion about the current status and future challenges in automotive painting.

OEMs will talk about all aspects of appearance using the example of black painted doors. Have a detailed look at different process solutions and discuss their benefits for production and quality.
