9. - 10. Jun 2021 | Virtual Conference
Materials in Car Body Engineering
Cost-efficient, lightweight and sustainable body material concepts for today’s and tomorrow’s (electric) vehicles is what the annual international conference Materials in Car Body Engineering will again be discussing with its global network of automotive experts on 9 and 10 June 2021.
This year, still in the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic, the conference will once more be conducted as a fully virtual event, assembling its international audience online to hear about latest progress regarding car body materials, their applicability and their quality control, discussing any material of (potential) industrial relevance for advanced series car body concepts, from relevant steel or light metal alloys (Al, Mg) to composites and to further novel materials and their combination, and equally considering panel, extruded or cast materials.
Accommodating to the needs and time zones of a global online audience, conference participants will have the chance to review all conference contributions at a time of their convenience via streaming-on-demand for two weeks after the live presentation.
Gathering information from trailblazing technical presentations is one thing - discussing them in a truly live and interactive manner is another: Thus, during the entire conference, online networking will be possible in a virtual “lobby room”, providing opportunities to Meet the Speakers as well as all other conference participants in live video meetings, one-on-one or in small groups, spontaneous or scheduled, in a very flexible manner.
We are looking forward to welcoming you in Automotive Circle’s virtual environment!
Here’s a little SNEAK PEAK to the virtual conference programme:
- New modelling approach to 3rd generation high-strength steels for automotive components

Cost-efficient, lightweight and sustainable...... car body material concepts for today’s and tomorrow’s (electric) vehicles is what the annual international conference Materials in Car Body Engineering will again be discussing with its global network of automotive experts.
This year, still in the midst of the Coronavirus pandemic, the conference will once more be conducted as a fully virtual event on 9 and 10 June 2021, assembling its international audience online to hear about latest ideas and developments in car body materials, but also to discuss and network in a truly live and interactive online environment.
As always, the conference addresses improvements in the application of all relevant steel or light metal alloys (Al, Mg) as well as composites or further novel materials - and their combination in modern car bodies. Progress in panel, extruded or cast materials may equally be discussed.
Thus, your input is kindly requested: As an interested speaker, you are cordially invited to suggest your contribution to this year’s conference programme, as a half-hour technical presentation reporting on your latest developments and findings on car body materials, their applicability and their quality control, regarding any material of (potential) industrial relevance for advanced series car body material concepts.
To suggest your contribution, please send a short English-language abstract containing the presentation title, name(s) and contact details of the speaker(s) and a summary of the content of your intended presentation in a non-commercial, engineering-oriented fashion by April 26th, 2021 via e-mail to email@example.com.
Based on your abstract, the acceptance of your contribution will be decided in collaboration with the conference’s OEM Advisory Board of experts at the end of April. Speakers will be notified immediately after that.
For every accepted presentation, one speaker per presenting company, with a maximum of two speakers altogether, will be invited to take part in the full conference, exempt of all the conference fees.
Modalities of the virtual conference
- Upon acceptance of their suggestion, speakers will be asked to prepare their presentation as a 20-minute pre-recorded video, to be handed in, together with the presentation slides, by the end of May.
- The presentation videos will be streamed to the audience during the live event, followed by a live Q&A session of the speaker(s) with the audience.
- Further to this, all presentation videos will be made available for streaming-on-demand for registered conference participants for two weeks after the live session.
- The conference language will be English throughout.
- During the conference, interactive online networking will be possible in a virtual “lobby room”, allowing individual online video chats as well as video meetings and discussions in small groups, formed spontaneously or scheduled. Speakers will be asked to be available for further discussions in this lobby during a specific Meet the Speakers time.
DEADLINE FOR PAPER SUBMISSIONS: 26 APRIL 2021
