Sustainability
in Product and Production Engineering
Clearly, the automotive industry’s biggest – although not only – challenge today is to adapt product development as well as production processes to eventually reach a climate-neutral, sustainable production of automobiles.
For Scope 1 and 2 sustainability (direct and indirect emissions, respectively, caused by in-house production processes at the OEMs), the general route is clear: Avoid direct emissions, optimise resource efficiency, use renewable energy. However, discussions on economic best-practice-solutions on this route, especially for high-energy trades such as the paint shop, are still important.
But the greatest challenge lies in Scope 3 sustainability: How to achieve sustainability/climate neutrality across the complete, cradle-to-gate automotive supply chain plus the post-consumer “life” of an automobile?
For the second time after its successful launch in 2022, these challenges are addressed at the Automotive Circle conference Sustainability in Product and Production Engineering, assembling its international network of OEM, supplier and academic experts in Bad Nauheim (Germany) / online, to discuss concepts, progress and also obstacles towards the goal of a fully sustainable automobile production.
Particular focus topics addressed by the conference will include:
We are looking forward to meeting you in Bad Nauheim (Germany) / online this autumn!

Please note: The conference is taking place parallel to our Smart Production conference and is giving you the opportunity to glimpse into Smart Production and for even more networking as well as a joint dinner!

Based on your abstract, the conference’s OEM Advisory Board will evaluate your proposal, taking into account the novelty of your results, their industrial relevance and the engineering-oriented, factual character of your proposal. Please do avoid the impression of a commercial product promotion.
Please note that, for each accepted conference contribution, one speaker per presenting company is fully invited (i.e., exempt of the conference fees) to take part in the conference, incl. hotel accommodation. All presentations have to be submitted (the slides) and held in English. Presentation time is 25 min, plus 5 min Q&A.
